Welcome!

What is this?

This is part of a personal website hosted on Neocities, which is inspired by MediaWiki and the various wikis that use it. I, cynderthekitsune have decided to create this as a (hopefully temporary) means of researching and providing reliable sources and information about being kemonomimi, with a lesser focus on daemons as well. The primary reason for this existing is because we couldn't find (and still haven't found) any reliable sources of information about kemonomimi that's not about the anime trope, especially since it's being used more as an identity/subculture now.

This is not for the anime trope, kinks/fetishes, or anything similar.

This also includes daemons, which aren't inherently under the kemonomimi umbrella. I am not as knowledgable about daemons as I am kemonomimi, so help, sources, and opinions are greatly valued! ^^ But daemons were included anyway as there's not much information about them as well.

Please share this site! This would be greatly helpful for others to learn more, and being kemonomimi or even a daemon is quite starkly unknown about.

Announcements

Completely overhauled the license - now it's CC0 (Public Domain) as I felt there's no need (and really no actual reason to) attribute me, since this is intended to be completely free and accessible by anyone anywhere, and this is simply knowledge to provide to anyone anywhere as opposed to a creative work (like art or a document for example). I just wish for everyone to remember that this isn't a fetish nor a kink, but rather a subculture or identity.

The images used aren't created by me, but are simply used as examples. The images are specifically taken as they were (previously cropped or edited, but not to demean the original works). So I believe these classify under Fair Use.

Pages

Pages Description
Kemonomimi Humanoids with animal characteristics (i.e. ears, tails, horns, antennae, wings, etc.)
Daemons An umbrella term for various monstrous creatures across cultures.

Lack of proper evidence

As of 2025, there still aren't any academic or scientific research into it. Most evidence is anecdotal, including this portion of this website, and the survey linked at the top.

There seems to be a severe lack of any reliable sources on kemonomimi, that's not the anime trope. So, this was made as an attempt for a detailed page that's easily accessible about kemonomimi! Please share this, as we've already done so on Discord a little bit, but we need it to be known more!
